Today, the United States Geological Survey reported 11 earthquakes in the lower 48 states and Alaska. The largest was a magnitude 3.1 10 km E of Maplesville, Alabama.
Born on this day in 1919 in Mississippi, American blues singer and songwriter Lil Green. She was among the leading female rhythm and blues singers of the 1940s.
