On this day in 1976 C. W. McCall’s song, "Convoy" hits #1 on the country music charts and stayed there for 6 weeks.

Also on this day, in 1991, Major League Baseball officially banned Pete Rose from ever being elected to the Hall of Fame because he was found to be betting on baseball.

And on this day in 2001 at the Macworld Expo in San Francisco, (remember those? They were a big deal back in the day)  Apple announced iTunes so all of the Apple people could organize and play digital music and videos.
